Cuxton in Kent plays host to the second run in the Rail to Trail series. As little as 43mins by train from London will take you out into the 'Garden of England'. Rail to Trail East brings us to this village on the river Medway. What awaits you is a trail runners delight; woodland, fields, rolling hills and valleys. Some of these hills and valleys are so beautiful and empty, you will be surprised at just how accessible this incredible area is. Luckily, Trailscape are here to spread the word about this hidden gem and great example of the English countryside! On your run, you'll enjoy rural Kent at its best; passing old hop houses, through fields and along some national trails, including, depending on your chosen distance, sections of the North Downs way, the Pilgrims way and the Wealdway. There are hills to test your thighs, flat sections to recover and a mud-lovers delight of woodland! Overall, this is a tough & challenging course! As always, there are three distances to choose from: 10(ish)k, Half(ish) Marathon and Marathon(ish). So, whether you're a novice or an elite runner, we've got it covered! The Marathon route is two loops of the half marathon. You will then know exactly what is in store for your second loop; where to ease off, where to really open up, all to give you the best chance of achieving that legendary negative split!
Sign up for a single race or be bold, enter the whole series and get a 15% discount.

Event day overview
Registration Time Briefing Time Start Time
Marathon - From 07.30 08.45 09.00
Half marathon - From 07.30 10:00 10.15
10k - From 07.30 11:00 11.15
You will receive your race number and electronic chip timer at registration. There will also be a small amount of race day paper work for you to complete, so don't leave it too last minute and have a mad rush before the race has even begun! The race briefing is mandatory for all runners and will take place immediately before the race starts. This is where you will be given important information about race rules, safety and last minute course changes.
Start times are staggered to limit any possibility of congestion along the route. Your friends can therefore sign up to different distance runs but not have to wait around for too long for each other once you've finished. There will though, be some refreshments available at race HQ and you can help support others over the finish line. Share your running high and excitement with strangers and friends alike!
As with all the Rail to Trail events, the event is set up so that you can travel to and from by train. This helps limit our impact on the environment, means that you don't have to worry about driving tired and you can also enjoy a celebratory drink after you've finished! However, should you need to drive, it is important to note that there is no on-site parking available. There is plenty of residential area just down the road from the race venue but please do be considerate to those living nearby. It is important that we keep the local residents on side for our events and inconsiderate parking will prove incredibly frustrating for them. Obviously, parking is limited and as such we are strong advocates of car sharing. Please see our Facebook page to arrange this - great for the environment and great for making new trail running friends!
As soon as they are ready, the results for the 2015 race will be available here
